Apat na malalaking awards ang target na makuha nng Pilipinas sa World Travel Awards ngayong taon.
Ito ay matapos maging nominado ang Pilipinas sa apat na kategorya sa WTA 2023.
KInabibilangan ito ng:
– World’s Leading Beach Destination
– World’s Leading Dive Destination
– World’s Leading Island Destination
– (Department of Tourism) World’s Leading Tourist Board
Ayon kay Department of Tourism (DOT) Secretary Christina Frasco, patunay ito na lumalaki at lumalawak na interes at pagmamahal ng mundo sa Pilipinas.
“With the natural beauty of our beaches, dive sites, and islands, the wealth of history, heritage, and culture, the festivals, flavors, and adventures across our diverse Regions, every tourist’s journey guarantees a lifetime of memories,” sabi ni Frasco.
Idinagdag ni Frasco na aabot sa 5.35 million na Pilipino ang nagtatrabaho sa industriya ng turismo na nagbibigay ng alaga at hospitality sa mga turista kaya hindi nila makakalimutan ang experience sa Pilipinas.

Ngayong taon, dinidepensahan ng Pilipinas ang back-to-back na titulo nito bilang “World’s Leading Beach” at “Dive Destination”.
Ang London-based WTA ay itinatag noong 1993 na layong kilalanin ang travel at tourism industry sa tatlong lebel: country; regional; at world awards sa iba’t ibang kategorya.
Itinuturing itong ‘Oscars’ sa travel industry.
